Creating a ringtone for your iPhone is easy if you follow the steps below.
Here is how to get started.
Apple iPhone come with quite number of ringtones to select from. You can set a variety of ringtones for yourself but if you want to get a favorite song as a ringtone, this is how to go by it.
1. Open iTunes on your desktop to get started.
2. Choose the song you want to use to create your ringtone and click on it. To do this, go to file on iTunes and click on ADD FILE TO LIBRARY to select the song.
3. Right click on the song and choose the song info option.
4. Click the Options tab
5. Choose up to a 30-second period in the song that you want to set as ringtone. For example, start:1:30 Stop:2:00.
6. Click OK
7. With your song highlighted, click on File > convert and choose option that says 'create AAC Version. iTunes will immediately convert the 30-second audio you chose to create.
8. Right click on the ringtone you just created and on windows PC, search for the song in your windows Explorer pane and on Mac, choose the option ''show in Finder'' to find its location on your hard Drive.
9. Change the song's file extension from .m4a to .m4r. This is because apple uses a .m4r extension for ringtones instead of the popular .m4a. When there is a prompt to either keep .m4a or go with .m4r, choose the latter.
10. Keep your window open and connect your iPhone to your PC. You will see the iPhone pop up in the left sidebar of the screen.
11. Drag and drop the .m4r ringtone you created onto the ''Tone'' option on the left sidebar, under your iPhone. It should then be seen under the ringtones section in your iPhone.
12. Select the ringtone and click on ''sync'' beneath.
13. Now head over onto your iPhone
, click on'' settings'', under settings, choose ''Sounds'', scroll down to Ringtone. Here you can see your ringtone. Select it. The Ringtone should also play so you can be sure it properly worked and everything is good to go.
